THE CARE LAB IS EXPANDING TO UNIVERSIDAD DE LOS ANDES
We are excited to share that the CARE Lab is expanding to Universidad de los Andes. Led by professor Jorge Cuartas, Ph.D., this new lab brings together the School of Economics and the Department of Psychology in a shared space for research and training.
Our work focuses on understanding early childhood development in context, and on producing rigorous research that can transform the lives of families and communities. We are interested in topics such as:
-
- Child development in context: parenting, early stimulation, early education, and violence.
-
- Violence prevention and parenting programs, along the lines of Apapacho.
-
- Climate change, care, and child development.
-
- The economics of human development and its relationship with public policy.
Throughout the semester, members take part in lectures, individual research logs, group discussion, and public facing outputs such as short posts, policy notes, and press releases. This is only the beginning: a first step toward larger academic work in future semesters.
